International students and employees who would like to move into higher levels of education and employment should take a standardized test of English. There are three popular or major tests that higher education insititutions and multinational companies require. These are the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
